Gigi Coddington was my drama coach and mentor during high school. She helped me prepare for many auditions, including the La Jolla Playhouse’s Summer Conservatory and the Old Globe’s Shakespeare Summer Program. With her guidance, I was accepted into both programs. Gigi is a talented, kind, patient, teacher at heart. I loved working with her because I always saw her passion for theatre coming through her direction and how much she cared for me during the process. I recommend Gigi as a dramatic coach to anyone who is willing to learn; she gives wonderful advice on monologue preparation, song choices for auditions, and presentation. As a working actress on both the West Coast and East Coast, I recognize that so much of my audition preparation comes directly from what I learned from Gigi. She will guide you in the right direction.
“I just want you to know that you have helped transform the way I look at auditions… and now I am having the BEST time of my life auditioning! I am now able to trust what I have prepared, be present, and just have FUN in the room and collaborate with Casting Directors. I actually look forward to getting in the room now! (What the heck?)”
Voice lessons with Gigi Coddington are a delight. In each lesson, she creates a positive, supportive space in which to grow. She possesses a unique ability to balance positive feedback with specific and constructive suggestions for improvement, and welcomes the singer to discuss what he or she is experiencing with his or her own instrument. It is an enlightening experience and it’s clear Gigi truly cares about the growth and success of her students. Thanks to her guidance, I have experienced immense improvements in how I think about and use my voice. Highly recommend.
